84

Eighty-four. Eighty-four what you ask? Eighty-four posts !!! I wrote 82 of them this year... remember I started blogging in December of 2008. If you look back, I never promised or committed to blogging everyday - I said I'd try. And so I did, try that is. I follow a lot of other blogs out there and in the past couple of days the majority of them are focused on the year in review. So are the radio stations for that matter! I digress. I figure I should probably take this opportunity to reflect on the past year as well. Hmmmm...

I've been to three weddings this past year. I've traveled quite a bit although some places were just for a weekend wedding but it's still traveling! Speaking of traveling, what the hell is wrong with the world?! Why do people insist on screwing up traveling for everyone else in the world just so they can get their 15 minutes of fame??? I'm so tired of all that. Try some creativity in your life. Terrorist acts on planes have already been done. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. Get it?! Show me something that hasn't been done already and maybe then you'll get my attention...but now? You're just pissing me off.

This past year has been interesting...and a whirlwind too! Funny how it's a universal truth...time that is. Everyone I talk to says the same thing...as you get older time picks up speed. Why is that? Is it because we're hurrying up to be older when we're little and once that wish is granted there's no turning back?! Oh, how I would take that wish back in a heart beat!

Things I've learned in 2009

I realize I need to slow down and take everything in once in a while but not too often cuz then I'll miss something and I won't be able to catch up! Oh the dilemma.

I've learned that you can't change people, you can't even make them see or hear what they don't want to. Ignorance is bliss - it's not just a saying, it's actually true for some people.

I've realized that you have to be thankful for what you have now cuz you may not have it tomorrow. Not just thankful for stuff in your life but for the people in your life. There's nothing more important than your friends and family. They're the glue in life. They're what makes you want to get up in the morning. Love them with all your might.

I've learned that you have to prepare for the worst in life so you're not caught off guard if it happens. Be organized. Plan. Don't take anything for granted. Dot your i's and cross your t's.

I've learned it doesn't hurt to be happy for others. Not everyone has to do things your way for you to be happy for them. If it works for them, be happy.

I've learned to treat myself with respect. Mind, body and soul. Believe in yourself and you may be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Never underestimate what you're capable of - you only end up limiting your dreams.

I'm sure I could keep going but this blog is getting kinda long and I know what your attention spans are like...what were you saying?!
